Celebrating my friendship with Ong Claudia! I got to know Claudia from a gym about 7 years ago. We hardly spoke initially as our workout schedules were different. She was the one who broke the ice with a very warm “hello”. Later, I got to know she is an insurance agent. Subsequently, we hung out often and more so when we were preparing for our Hyrox race. We are both moms (she has 4 kids btw!) and share the same passion for exercise, something that is crucially important especially for women at our age, to safeguard against bone density issues and broken bones in a fall. “We have to build muscles around our joints” has always been my motto. When it came to contentious ones, she never shied away and followed up so closely and answered all the difficult questions on my behalf that I hardly needed to do anything but just wait for the $ to come in.
